1. General Department Profile:
Commerce is the branch of the study, which helps to remove various hindrance encountered in our daily activities. Commerce generally means the exchange of goods and services. But commerce, in the present dynamic environment, is not confined only to exchange goods and services, its scope extends to banks, public and private sector and now even to computers.
The commerce department was set up in the year 1990 with an initial strength of 25 students. As the years passed by, the department had its offshoot by introducing B.Com (C.A) in the year 2001-2002.
For the benefit of the students, the post graduate course M.Com (C.A) has been started in the year 2003-2004.
The department in 2012-13 introduced its research programme of M.Phil with 10 research scholars.
At present, our department proudly claims a remarkable strength of around 565 students and 3 research scholars.

2. Objective:

  • To teach recent developments in the various areas of commerce.
  • To impart basic skills, this will be useful in developing enterepreneurial ability.
  • To develop the personality so as to become a responsible citizen.
  • To train the students in the application of computers in various business operations.
